Ice cream and yoghurt lovers will be pleased to know that Vinamilk, the
country's largest dairy corporation, has just established a joint stock
arm. "This is a new joint stock company model and the first of its kind
in the industry. It operates under the 'mother-son' conglomerate," Ngo
Thi Thu Trang, Vinamilk chief accountant, told Vietnam Investment Review
last week. "We opted for this course in preference to the equitisation
of an affiliated dairy factory, which was the original plan. "Government
