Fed: New report predicts bright future for magnesium, titanium

CANBERRA, Dec 10 AAP - Australia's fledgling magnesium industry could export enough
to capture half the growth in world demand by 2020, a new report has found.
An action plan for the light metals industry said Australia was well established as
an aluminium and alumina producer, with the industry the second largest export earner
after coal.
But the emerging markets for magnesium and titanium might equal or outstrip aluminium
in growth over the next 20 years, although Australia is yet to manufacture either metal.
