Tuesday, December 11, 2001 -- You wouldn't think there was a recession in Israel if you wandered through the IKEA store in southern Netanya. Customers mill about the upstairs display floor testing out sofas, touching the beds and opening cupboards and drawers in the kitchens. Downstairs, the checkout counters are ringing as people load up and pay for goods ranging from sofas and kitchen units to salad bowls and cuddly stuffed toys.
