NT: Darwin rock sitters' tribute after 27 years

DARWIN, Dec 16 AAP - How long do like-minded beer drinkers have to sit and watch tropical
sunsets before their civic leaders acknowledge their unique contribution to society?.
For the legendary Darwin Rock Sitters Club, it has taken 27 years.
The Darwin City Council this weekend at last provided a memorial to the rock-sitting
world champions at their home on East Point Reserve overlooking the Arafura Sea.
The club was founded by four Darwin photographers in May 1974 when they stumbled upon
what they considered to be the perfect vantage point to watch the sun set on a Saturday
