better-than- expected third quarter earnings, despite the slumping
economy. Earnings at Best Buy up 40 percent, to 37 cents a share,
beating estimates by a penny.
Circuit City reversed a year-ago loss and posted a profit of 10 cents
a share. The results also topped analysts estimates.
