Fed: Nine years of effort brings better radio to bush: ABA

CANBERRA, Dec 21 AAP - Regional Australia is now enjoying more radio stations and better
quality radio after nine years of upgrades, the nation's broadcasting authority said today.

The Australian Broadcasting Authority (ABA) said it had completed its radio planning
exercise which began when the authority was created in 1992.

Over those nine years, the number of radio transmitters in regional areas had increased
226.5 per cent, and to remote areas by 120.5 per cent.
