The son of the blind sheik jailed for plotting to blow up New York landmarks has been killed in the Afghanistan war, a Cairo lawyer said Friday.
Mohammed Abdel-Rahman, 29, died about two weeks ago from wounds received during the bombardment of the Tora Bora caves in eastern Afghanistan, said Montasser el-Zayat.
El-Zayat, a lawyer who is known for his contacts among militant groups, said his information came from an Islamic activist in London.
The report could not be confirmed because of the difficulties of getting such information from Afghanistan.
