Dateline: DHARAMSALA, India Ten Tibetans died in Chinese custody last year, including five who were fatally tortured, and the number of political prisoners also rose, a human rights organization said Monday.

"Evidence of these violations fly in the face of Chinese government propaganda which advertised an improvement in the living conditions and human rights situation," said the Tibetan Center for Human Rights and Democracy in its annual report on alleged abuses in Tibet.
