Domestic Software Vendors to Keep up

CHINA, Jan 09, 2002 (AsiaPort via COMTEX) -- China's software vendors are desperately trying to shake off its reputation for lagging behind international counterparts.

Langchao Software, a Shandong-based company, recently signed a contract with Japanese optic fibre maker Furukawa to provide enterprise resource planning (ERP) management software to the world's top optic equipment vendor.

ERP software belongs to a high level management product. "Exporting software overseas will significantly upgrade the design and management levels of domestic software vendors," said Wang Baihua, chief executive officer of Langchao.
