Fed: Govt to pay for Georgia Peach and the Incredible Hulk

NOWRA, NSW, Jan 11 AAP - The federal government would bear the $800,000 cost of bringing the helitankers Georgia Peach and the Incredible Hulk to Australia, acting Prime Minister John Anderson said today.

The two Erickson Air-Cranes, the brother and sister of the water bombing chopper Elvis, were brought over from the United States to help battle the bushfires.

The federal government would also coordinate talks with state and territory governments on future improvements to Australia's aerial firefighting capability.
