“Playing God” is a movie that desperately tries to be hip, and ends up being clueless.
David Duchovny from TV’s “The X-Files,” in a role tailored for him, gets to utter a few sardonically funny lines, but mostly seems disinterested.
And who could blame him, given the script that is so busy trying to be stylish it forgets to develop an interesting plot that makes much sense.
Duchovny plays Eugene Sands, an ex-surgeon who lost his license for performing surgery while high on heroin.
