The Clark County-Portland area reaped the benefits of cooperation when the Interstate 5 Bridge repair was accomplished in mid-September with far less disruption than anyone dreamed.
This week, a regional government serving Portlands tri-county area will officially embrace bistate cooperation when it adopts a planning document that includes a separate chapter on Clark County.
The seven-member Metro Council will meet at 2 p.m. Thursday at 600 N.E. Grand Ave., Portland, to consider the Regional Framework Plan.
Mike Burton, Metros executive officer, said the plan recognizes Clark County as an integral player in regional planning.
