Dateline: DHAKA, Bangladesh The government on Wednesday released documents listing 40 cases of alleged corruption, irregularities and abuse of power by former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her colleagues.

The allegations including kickbacks in the purchase of eight MiG-29 fighter planes from Russia were contained in a 1,117-page White Paper.

"The white paper contains 40 cases of corruption, irregularities and abuse of power by the past government," Haris Chowdhury, a political aide of Prime Minister Khaleda Zia, told reporters.

Chowdhury said some of the allegations are based on newspaper reports during Hasina's 1996-2001 tenure.
