NEW YORK (AP) _ Dow Jones & Co., publisher of The Wall Street Journal and other business publications, presented investors Thursday with a three-year plan for growing revenues in a number of ways, including an expansion of its advertising base.

As part of the plan, Dow Jones hopes to decrease its reliance on financial and technology advertising, which together make up just over 40 percent of the paper's total advertising volume.

Dow Jones benefited greatly from its dominance in those areas during the boom years of 1999 and 2000, but the falloff has been steep since then as the advertising market soured.
