TEN: Grand slam drought continues for Hingis

MELBOURNE, Jan 26 AAP - Martina Hingis must be wondering just when - or if - she is ever going to win another grand slam singles title.

In many ways, the 2002 Australian Open was set up for the Swiss star.

Three of Hingis' five grand slam titles have been won at Melbourne Park and she has appeared in the last six finals, equalling Evonne Goolagong-Cawley' s Open era record.

Her grand slam drought now extends to three years and 12 tournaments, but most of her losses since then have been when she was out-hit by the quartet of power-hitting Americans, Venus and Serena Williams, Lindsay Davenport ...
