(The Maroon) (U-WIRE) NEW ORLEANS -- French novelist Alexandre Dumas
finally might be able to rest in peace. After the debacle known as
"The Musketeer" was released, Dumas must certainly have been spinning
in his grave over the flagrant mutilation of his work.
Director Kevin Reynolds ends Dumas' suffering with his latest film,
"The Count of Monte Cristo." An entertaining tale of revenge and
swashbuckling action, this film is everything "The Musketeer" should'
ve been.
Edmond Dantes, played by Jim Caviezel ("Frequency" and "Angel Eyes"
), is an honest and innocent young man with a beautiful girlfriend,
