(Daily Californian) (U-WIRE) BERKELEY, Calif. -- In a speech Wednesday
at the University of California-Berkeley, Secretary General of the
League of Arab States Amre Moussa implored the United States to intervene
in the ongoing Arab-Israeli conflict.
Sponsored by the Center for Middle Eastern Studies and the Chancellor'
s Office, the speech drew more than 100 people to Alumni House.
Moussa, who was prime minister of Egypt for 10 years, said Israel'
s military occupation of Palestine is "the root of all the problems
we are seeing" and will not end without more world attention.
