may not be absorbing as much of the world's carbon dioxide as has
been thought previously, according to research being conducted in
part by Colorado State University scientists.
A group of atmospheric scientists from around the world have joined
together in the TransCom 3 project to study the Earth's carbon dioxide
sources and sinks.
Each year six billion tons of carbon dioxide is released into the
air, but only three billion tons remain detectable. TransCom 3 is
working to discover where the other three billion tons go, said Scott
