Vic: Private ambulance officers strike over pay talks

MELBOURNE, Feb 19 AAP - More than 100 ambulance officers from a private patient transport company walked off the job this morning over failed enterprise agreement negotiations.

The Victorian Patient Transport employees went on strike shortly after 6am (AEDT) and will picket company offices in Essendon, Mulgrave and Mornington until midday.

Ambulance Employees' Association general secretary Rod Morris said the workers had been in enterprise agreement negotiations for almost two years, but the company had failed to make them any offer for increased pay and conditions.
