Dateline: LA PAZ, Bolivia At least dlrs 70 million will be needed to repair the damage caused by the powerful rainstorm that pounded La Paz three days earlier, Mayor Juan del Granado said Friday.

Floods caused by Tuesday's storm killed at least 69 people. Some 150 people were injured, and 39 are still listed as missing, he said.

Flooded highways virtually cut off Santa Cruz, Bolivia's economic hub, from the rest of the nation, and many in the lowland regions around La Paz feared their now swelling rivers would begin to overflow.
