Reigning World Cup and Olympic champion Netherlands and four-time
winner Pakistan launched their field hockey World Cup campaigns with
resounding victories in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday.
Netherlands began the defense of its World Cup title with a comfortable
4-0 victory over New Zealand, while Pakistan survived some early jitters
to swamp South Africa 5-0 in Pool A matches.
