Kathi VanderZanden loves where she lives.
"I think Vancouver has really good schools, and we live in a very
pleasant, wonderful neighborhood," she said.
But every morning, VanderZanden gets in the car, leaves her home
in Clark County's Sherwood neighborhood and drives to work in Oregon.
The trip takes at least 30 minutes or, depending on traffic, sometimes
as long as an hour. But VanderZanden, a marketing manager for a Portland
energy company, said she can't find the kind of work she does in Clark
County.
"The real basic issue is, 'Where's the job?' " VanderZanden said.
There are 60,000 Clark County residents working in Oregon ...
