Kathi VanderZanden loves where she lives. "I think Vancouver has really good schools, and we live in a very pleasant, wonderful neighborhood," she said. But every morning, VanderZanden gets in the car, leaves her home in Clark County's Sherwood neighborhood and drives to work in Oregon. The trip takes at least 30 minutes or, depending on traffic, sometimes as long as an hour.
