NSW: Pool closed as 41 students taken to hospital
SYDNEY, Feb 26 AAP - A leaking swimming pool pump in a northern
NSW town led to 41
schoolchildren being taken to hospital with sore eyes today, a health
official said.
The primary school students, aged between eight and 10, were having
a swimming lesson
at the local public pool in Manilla, 30km north-west of Tamworth,
when they complained
of sore eyes at around 1.20pm (AEDT).
Ambulance officers treated ten students at the pool but 41 children
were taken to the
local hospital for further treatment.
