For my birthday 3 1/2 years ago, my friend Carm gave me two zebra
finches in a small black cage. They were brother and sister, I named
them Nick and Nora, and I thought they were kind of cute.
So cute that I even wrote an article about the joys of raising zebra
finches, the joys of caring for zebra finches, the joys of listening
to
zebra finches.
Then one fateful day Nora laid some eggs, and my life changed
forever.
I can't tell you how many times people have told me, "I've had zebra
finches for two ...
