RU: New Zealand World Cup grounds revealed

WELLINGTON, March 1 NZPA - The World Cup saga took another twist today when a senior International Rugby Board (IRB) official revealed the eight grounds being considered for games in New Zealand.

IRB spokesman Chris Rea said matches would be played in Auckland, Hamilton, Palmerston North, Napier, Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin and Invercargill.

That left New Zealand Rugby Football Union (NZRFU) officials flabbergasted as they had been told the locations were to be kept secret.
