Scientists in Texas are reporting promising results from studies with
human adult stem cells. If adult stem cells turn out to be useful
for treating human diseases, that could short-circuit a politically
charged argument over using stem cells from human embryos. But as
NPR's Joe Palca reports, while the new research is promising, it is
a long way from proving adult stem cells' therapeutic value.
