Dateline: LAGOS, Nigeria The new coach of Nigeria's troubled Super Eagles has promised to invite new "surprise" faces to try out for the national squad in this soccer- mad West African nation, local news reports said Friday.

Chief coach Festus Onigbinde, a former Super Eagles Coach, told friends and colleagues that young players would be invited to fight for spots previously claimed by established veterans, said Felix Owolabi, a one-time professional player and close personal friend of Onigbinde.
