Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Barrister Moudud
Ahmed, while expressing his opinion about the publication of Human
Rights
Report on Bangladesh by the US State Department, said that the lower
Judiciary
is not completely independent. If that be the case, the Judiciary,
being
the last resort for the people to seek justice, needs to be separated
from
the executive on an urgent basis as per the twelve-point guidelines
given
by the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court, the apex court of
the country.
After the emergence of Bangladesh 31 years have passed and the country
is yet to achieve the separation of Judiciary from the Executive.
