NSW: Australian women most receptive to new contracpetive

SYDNEY, March 23 AAP - Australian women have taken up a new implant form of contraceptive faster than other women in the world, according to new figures today.

Research released for this weekend's Sexual Health and Family Planning Conference found more than 80,000 Australian women were now using Implanon, a three- year contraceptive implant.

The implant went on the market in May 2001, with Australian women embracing the new product much faster in the ensuing six months than European women.

In Australia, 35,500 women had the implant inserted in that time, compared to 32,000 women in France and 30,000 ...
