Hoping to turn Jordan into a regional TV production hub, King Abdullah
II on Monday launched a dlrs 140 million media project to build a
TV production and transmission center free of government censorship,
the official news agency reported.
The construction of the Jordanian Media City Co. is financed by Saleh
Kamel, chairman of the Italian-based Arab Radio and Television satellite
network, according to the mass-circulation daily al-Ra'i. Once the
project is completed, other investors will be able to join in, it
said.
