Japan, South Korea and the United States welcomed the recent easing
in North Korea's diplomatic stance during talks Tuesday on coordinating
policy toward the unpredictable communist state.
The one-day discussions in Tokyo focused on the visit this month by
a South Korean presidential envoy to Pyongyang and the North's expressions
of willingness to resume dialogue with the United States and Japan.
"The three delegations ... welcomed recent developments with regard
