Vic: CFMEU to meet this morning over Shell refinery dispute
MELBOURNE, April 12 AAP - Shop stewards from Australia's largest
left-wing union will
meet in Geelong this morning as a demarcation dispute over work at
the new Shell refinery
looks set to intensify.
The Construction Forestry Mining and Energy Union (CFMEU) yesterday
said Australian
Workers' Union (AWU) boss Bill Shorten had "blood on his hands" after
accepting a high
salary deal for workers at the new site.
The pay deal, hailed as a national on-shore record, will see labourers
offered up to
$2,000 a week during the construction of the $100 million project
at the exclusion of
CFMEU members.
