Vic: Mineral springs in danger of contamination, group claims
MELBOURNE, April 30 AAP - Victoria's mineral springs were in danger
of serious bacterial
contamination because of nearby logging, a doctors' environmental
group has said.
Doctors for Native Forests said Hepburn Springs and the mineral
springs in Daylesford
were being endangered by logging in the Wombat State Forest.
Contamination of the springs would create an economic disaster
in the region, marketed
by tourism authorities as "spa country".
Dr Suresh Pathy of Doctors for Native Forests said two of the three
springs at Hepburn
