Amcor's plan to take over the world is on track with latest buy

MELBOURNE, May 8 AAP - Australia's biggest packaging company Amcor
Ltd is poised to
become the world's biggest PET plastic bottles maker.
Its deal, announced today, to spend more than $2.0 billion buying
German giant Schalbach-Lubeca's
PET plastic bottles, caps and lids business, also catapults Amcor
to the forefront of
the world packaging stage.
The Melbourne-based, global-minded packager is paying $2.875 billion
for the assets
of Schmalbach-Lubeca, and in combining the businesses will create
the biggest PET plastics
bottles operation in the world.
