WA: Boy recovers after blowing off finger tips
PERTH, May 10 AAP - A 14-year-old schoolboy who accidentally blew
off some of his fingertips
by igniting a stolen detonator was recovering in a Perth hospital
today.
The accident happened yesterday morning when the unnamed boy was
given a detonator
by school friend at Armadale High School, police said.
The explosion blew off the tips of the fingers on his left hand.
Officers said the youth caused the number six detonator to explode
by setting fire
to a piece of paper and putting it in the unsealed end of an aluminium
tube he was holding.
