Jules Jacobsen, who parlayed a knack for marketing a 1940s-era
mealtime staple into a career as publisher of a weekly newspaper in
Bergen County, died Saturday in Florida. He was 83.
For 29 years, Mr. Jacobsen was co-publisher, and later sole owner,
of The Suburbanite, based in Cresskill. He also was founder of Allied
Offset Printing Corp. and Addressing Services of America, both in
Saddle
Brook.
Mr. Jacobsen sold The Suburbanite in 1986. Today it is owned by
