Friday, May 24, 2002 -- A senior surgeon at Haifa's Ram-bam Hospital urges that low-velocity rubber bullets not be used to control rioters in the Israeli population after studying their effects and finding that they cause serious bodily damage and even death.

"Rubber bullets are very serious ammunition," said Prof. Michael Krausz, whose article on the subject is to be published tomorrow in the British journal The Lancet.
