AFL: AFL to meet with its umpires

MELBOURNE, June 18 AAP - The AFL will meet with the umpires' association tomorrow to discuss a push for the men in white to comment publicly about controversial decisions.

AFL football operations manager Andrew Demetriou will discuss the issue with association chief executive Rob Anderson, two days after Anderson said the umpires should be allowed to explain themselves.

Umpiring director Jeff Gieschen said he had no problem with his charges having that option but was wary about how it would work.
