Dateline: ZAGREB, Croatia The prime minister criticized the media Wednesday over reports speculating about potential suspects wanted for wartime atrocities by the U.N. war crimes tribunal in The Hague.

"The Croatian government expresses concern over the manner in which the media have _ entirely unfoundedly _ speculated about names and unproven facts," said a statement issued by Prime Minister Ivica Racan' s office.

Calling on the media to exercise greater responsibility, the statement said it was "publicly known that the International War Crimes Tribunal in The Hague (Netherlands) is carrying out investigations."
