YOGA, a precisely choreographed combination of deep breathing,
stretches and strengthening exercises, is a "holistic" science. It
relates to the human being as a whole, not one that is divided into
fragments.
The yoga masters of yore described this science in a very systematic
way. For example, purity of body and mind is of utmost importance in
the practice of yoga, but it is often overlooked.
These two aspects, called the yamas and niyamas in yoga, are the
traditional values of self motivations.
