FABRIC OF GROWTH CUSTOM DRAPERY MAKER SEES WINDOW OF OPPORTUNITY
When Arthur Grey began selling fabric door-to-door in 1950, he quickly
became overwhelmed with orders for his handmade draperies and opened
a small shop in downtown Denver. But he probably never guessed that
House of Grey would one day need a 15,000- square-foot drapery manufacturing
facility, the largest in the region, to fill all the incoming orders.
``My dad just loves it. He started on East Colfax, right by the Capitol,
in a little 250-square-foot hole in the wall,'' said Andy Grey, who
took over as president of the company when his father retired in 1983.
