Soft: Australians open World championship with win
SASKATOON, July 26 AAP - Australia's most capped softball player
Sally McCreedy celebrated
her 350th international with a win when Australia trounced the Dominican
Republic in its
opening world championship encounter here today.
Australia won 10-0, with the five inning mercy rule invoked after
a string of runs
scored in the first, second, third and fifth innings.
Head coach Simon Roskvist was pleased with the game, but admitted
there was room for
improvement with the bat.
