NSW: Hospital waiting list figures delayed, not hidden - Knowles
SYDNEY, July 28 AAP - Monthly figures detailing hospital waiting
lists were only delayed,
not deliberately withheld, a spokeswoman for NSW Health Minister Craig
Knowles said today.
Opposition health spokeswoman Jillian Skinner today said waiting
list figures had not
been made public since April because they were now bigger than ever
and the government
was trying to hide the evidence.
"The Carr government was elected on a promise to halve hospital
waiting lists, they
were 44,000 then, they were 52,000 in April this year and they have
not updated them since,"
Ms Skinner said.
