(Daily Northwestern) (U-WIRE) EVANSTON, Ill. -- After months of discussion, a joint committee of the Northwestern Interfraternity Council and the Panhellenic Association has agreed that security guards be present at all IFC/Panhel co-sponsored events involving alcohol.
Security officers will be off-duty police officers from University Police, Evanston Police Department or Chicago Police Department. The agreement suggests sororities cover the costs of the guards.
Every weekend, there are several co-sponsored events, said IFC President Scott Gillard. Those events mostly consist of parties and formals.
