More rainfall reports dribbled in this week. Tyler Mode in the Minnehaha area reported a January rainfall of 6.80 inches. Longtime weather watcher Ruben Bafus of Camas measured 8.08 inches, .65 inches above normal. He noted that it was very mild also with a 43.7-degree average mean temperature, 4.3 above normal. Dan Hein, east of Washougal, recorded 11.68 inches, which was his fourth wettest January. He measured 22.2 inches of snow and sleet in January.
Up the gorge in Carson, Claudia Chiasson tallied 17.55 inches of rainfall and 33.75 inches of snow. Interesting to note that she had 17.60 inches of rain during January 1997, and in 1996, 17.05 inches. ...
