This is TALK OF THE NATION. I'm Jennifer Ludden, sitting in for Neal
Conan in Washington.
If they haven't done it already, most kids are heading back to school
this week and so are we with a series of shows on education. Today,
we're looking at school connectedness, the idea that the more attached
a child feels towards her school, the happier she'll be, and therefore,
less likely to be truant, drop out, get pregnant or become violent.
But defining connectedness is one of those intangibles, and it can
be hard to get districts to implement the concept. Are small schools ...
