(Daily Mississippian) (U-WIRE) OXFORD, Miss. -- Within a 30-minute span on a Wednesday afternoon, Oxford Police Department Investigator Jimmy Williams fielded two calls reporting credit card fraud worth almost $2,000 in town.

It was business as usual, Williams said, who responds to similar calls at least once a day. During his five years of investigating, Williams tracked credit card identity theft from Oxford, Miss., to Montreal, Hawaii and Bangkok, Thailand. When the culprits go national or international, they exhaust OPD resources and can only be rolled over to the FBI, Williams said.
