WASHINGTON, July 31 (IPS) -- The United Nations and its
peacekeeping role enjoy much more support among U.S. voters than
among the political leadership in the United States, according to
a series of polls taken over the past four years.
Despite high-profile failures of U.N. peacekeeping operations
in the past year, a clear majority of the U.S. public still
approves of the world body, according to the latest poll by the
Americans Talk Issues (ATI) group.
