MEXICO CITY, Apr. 28 (IPS) -- The international environmental
group Greenpeace and opposition politicians have launched a joint
attack on Mexican authorities, accusing them of bowing to pressure
from transnationals in approving new forestry laws.
"The hastiness with which the law -- which has a number of
confusing articles -- was discussed, and the evidence of pressure,
greatly concern us," said Greenpeace spokesman Roberto Lopez. "The
new law goes against the environment and native communities.
