THE country's fuel consumption has been reduced by 10 per cent during
the first couple of months this year amid the economic downturn.
Norawat Suwan, director-general of Commercial Registration Department,
said that during January and February the consumption of oil products plusliquified
petroleum gas (LPG) used in the petrochemical industry was 102 million
litres a day or 643,493 barrel a day, a reduction of 10 per cent year-to-year.
The consumption of high speed diesel and fuel oil, which represents
around 60 per cent of total energy consumption, has decreased continuously
since the country's economic meltdown.
